Euro 2020: Sweden win 5-goal thriller in the 93rd minute
Sweden 3-2 Poland Sweden came out on top in dramatic fashion as substitute Viktor Claesson scored a 93rd-minute winner to secure the top spot in Group E of Euro 2020. Things seemed to be going well for the favourites in Saint Petersburg as Emil Forsberg netted twice to put the Swedes up 2-0. Forsberg opened the scoring in the 2nd minute itself before adding another just before the hour mark. However, Poland were not ready to back down without a fight. Robert Lewandowski finally found his scoring boots as he pulled one back for the Polish less than 2 minutes after Forsberg created some daylight between the two sides. Lewandowski thought he had secured a draw for his nation in the 84th minute when he found the equaliser. Although that would not have been enough to see his country through to the knockout stage, Poland were playing for pride. Sweden had other ideas, however. Claesson made sure of the three points for Sweden right at the death to set up a last-16 tie against Ukraine in Glasgow on 29 June. The Swedes made it to the quarterfinals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia so this success is not surprising. They have looked like a solid outfit and have coped well without Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
