The Chile national football team represents its country in men’s international football competitions and is controlled by the Federación de Fútbol de Chile, which was established in 1895.
The team is commonly referred to as La Roja (“The Red One”). They have appeared in nine World Cup tournaments and were hosts of the 1962 FIFA World Cup where they finished in third place, the highest position the country has ever achieved in the World Cup.
The country won their first Copa América title on home soil at the 2015 Copa América, defeating Argentina in the final.
They went on to successfully defend their title in the United States at Copa América Centenario in 2016. Prior to this, they had been runners-up in the competition on four occasions.
As a result of winning the 2015 Copa América, they qualified for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, where they finished second, behind Germany, in their debut appearance.

Chilean Primera División
The Chilean Primera División (First Division) is the top-tier league of the country’s football league system.
It is organized by the ANFP. The league is known as the Campeonato AFP PlanVital for sponsorship reasons.
It features 18 of the best football clubs in the country.
The top teams to finish in this league get to play in continental club competitions like the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.
The champions of the Campeonato qualify for the Copa Libertadores for the next year, as well as second and third place.
The fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh place finishers qualify for the Copa Sudamericana for the next year.
Primera B de Chile
Campeonato Primera B (Chilean First B Division) is the second tier in the country’s football league system, and is organized by the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional.
It was established in 1952 as Segunda División and later renamed in 1996 to its current name.
Since 1954, automatic promotion to and relegation from Campeonato Nacional has been granted, although Palestino and Rangers were promoted to the top flight in the first season.

Segunda División Profesional del Fútbol Profesional Chileno (Second Professional Division of Chilean Professional Football) is the third level of the Chilean football league system, since the season 2012.
It is organized by the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional.
The Chilean Segunda División Profesional was established in 2011.
Tercera A (Chile)
Tercera División de Chile (Third Division of Chile), is the fourth tier of Chilean football.
It is organized by the Federación de Fútbol de Chile and the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Amateur de Chile.
It is both the fourth level of the Chilean football league system and the top league for Chilean Football Youth Leagues.

Tercera División B de Chile (Third Division B of Chile), is the fifth category of Chilean football in the Liga Chilena de Fútbol, and is organized by the Federación de Fútbol de Chile and the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Amateur de Chile.
It is both the fifth level of the Chilean football league system and the second league for Chilean Football Youth Leagues.
